Join our Mount Kumgang adventure tour to the DPRK whilst the national celebrates their Party Foundation Day with mass dancing, possible fireworks and viewing the spectacular Mass Games. This festival marks the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea back in 1945 soon after World War II and is recognized as one of the more special national holidays to take place.
During your tour with us in Pyongyang, you will see all the must-see sights of the capital such as the Mausoleum where both Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il lay in state, explore Kim Il Sung Square, adventure down into the deep Pyongyang Metro, view Juche tower for a perfect panorama view, visit the Korean War Museum and much more. We’ve also arranged your visit Kaesong city, located only 8km away from the DMZ so you can have an up-close and personal visit to Panmunjom Village where we’ll have our own Korean People’s Army military officer for a detailed tour and history lesson of the site.
After seeing what the west side of the Korean Peninsula coast has to offer, we’ll also take you over to the east side to the famous Mt. Kumgang region and the sunny coast of Wonsan city. You’ll first arrive in Wonsan, which is a popular holiday destination for Koreans all over the DPRK. Here we’ll try the very delicious and seriously fresh seafood caught along the pier and to spend a special afternoon kicking a football around, playing frisbee and swimming with the locals.
The following day we’ll head further down to Mt. Kumgang and hike Kuryong falls and scout the gorgeous Samil Lagoon. With the Autumn season in full effect, Mt. Kumgang is particularly stunning during this time of the year featuring vivid and multi-coloured green, orange, red, brown, purple foliage. During our two evenings in this incredibly scenic region, we’ll spend the night at a lesser-visited hotel and traverse everything this region has to offer before heading back to Pyongyang and concluding the tour in Beijing.
The Mass Games, the world’s largest performance with over 100,000 performers is expected to take place during this tour! Now is your chance to watch this grand spectacular performance.
