Example Kazakhstan Tour Itinerary (5 days)

Day 1: Astana

Morning:

  • Arrive at your convenience in Astana – the new modern and stylish city of Kazakhstan, which is well connected to many countries within the Stans, Middle East, and Eastern Europe.
  • Transfer from the airport to your hotel in Astana.

Afternoon:

  • Pre-tour meeting will be held at our hotel lobby at 6:00pm to discuss the tour itinerary and to meet your fellow travellers and YPT guide.
  • Head out for a welcome dinner and drinks, even trying Beshbarmak an iconic dish to Astana featuring tender boiled meat, usually lamb or horse meat, served on thin noodles. 
  • Overnight in Astana

Day 2: Astana City Tour

Morning:

  • Guided city tour of Astana, exploring its modern architecture, iconic landmarks, and vibrant atmosphere.
  • Visit key attractions such as the Bayterek Tower and Astana Opera House.
  • Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, sampling traditional Kazakh cuisine or international dishes.

Afternoon:

  • Visit the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation.
  • Take a leisurely stroll along the Ishim River embankment.
  • Dinner at a restaurant offering panoramic views of Astana, a perfect end to your first day in the capital.

Day 3: Charyn Canyon 

Morning:

  • Day trip to Charyn Canyon, one of Kazakhstan’s most breathtaking natural wonders.
  • Enjoy the scenic drive through the countryside, passing picturesque landscapes and rural villages along the way.
  • Arrive at Charyn Canyon and take a guided tour. 
  • Explore key landmarks such as the Valley of Castles

Afternoon:

  • Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the natural beauty of Charyn Canyon
  • Return to Astana in the late afternoon
  • Spend the evening relaxing at your hotel or exploring Astana’s vibrant dining and nightlife scene.

Day 4: Burabay National Park 

Morning:

  • Depart from Astana for a day trip to Burabay National Park
  • Arrive at Burabay National Park and explore its natural attractions, including the shimmering Lake Borovoe, the iconic Zhumbaktas Rock, and the mysterious Okzhetpes Rock.

Afternoon:

  • If you’re in the mood go hiking, try horseback riding, or boating on the lake – there are lots of options.
  • Return to Astana in the late afternoon.
  • Enjoy a goodbye dinner in Astana

Day 5: Astana

Morning:

  • Enjoy your last morning with your group and visit the Main Republican Mosque, officially known as Hazret Sultan Mosque the largest in Central Asia and one of the ten largest mosques in the world.
