The Pamir Highway, or known as M41 during the Soviet times, this was the very route that was a vital part of the epic Silk Road. The very same which Marco Polo travelled and what connected many and mighty civilisations and empires to another. On our Pamir Highway Tour we will take you through the most impressive, remotest and wildest mountain ranges in the world.
Your journey commences in Dushanbe, Tajikistan’s capital, as we explore the Soviet relics and monuments, as well as the must see sights of this quiet yet forgotten city in the Stans.
Then the real journey begins, we make our way east driving along the Pamir Highway passing incredible mountain landscapes, old Soviet bus stops, lost Lenin monuments, other Soviet relics, and more! At night, we will stay in distinctive local towns across the Pamir.
We will take you through the Wakhan Corridor route meaning you have many opportunities to glance at the other side of the river into Afghanistan. A rare opportunity which also shows the stark contrast between both countries.
