Your journey begins in Kinshasa, the largest and capital city of the DRC, and head straight into the heart of the city. You’ll meet the “Sapeurs”, known for their stylish fashion and unique lifestyle, and visit an interesting religious sect, the Tata Gonda village. Its followers wear sackcloths and ashes from burnt palm leaves.
Crossing into the Republic of Congo, you’ll discover Brazzaville’s colonial past and how it thrives for its own brighter future. Then, embracing the natural beauty of the Congo (also named Congo-Brazzaville), you’ll trek through the forest to see mighty silverback gorillas in their natural habitat
The journey continues to Cabinda, the resources-rich exclave of The Republic of Angola. The Angolan flag bears a machete and a gear wheel emblem, making it one of YPT’s favourite flags, but also a region to visit. As well as discovering the cultures of those seldom-visited places, you’ll see how the three countries got divided by the European colonizers who drew their borders.
Spaces are limited, so get in touch with us to discover the two Congos and Cabinda! It’s also worth making the most of your time in Africa and continuing with us to South Sudan!
