How To Get a Nauru Visa – 2025

Getting a Nauru visa through YPT is easy!

Nauru is one of the world’s least visited countries, making a trip there both rare and rewarding. However, before you can explore this remote Pacific nation, you’ll need to secure a Nauru visa, which is famous for being difficult to obtain and requires a Letter of Invitation (LOI) issued in advance.

The good news? Getting a Nauru visa is simple when you travel with YPT. While visa processing is a key part of what we do, it is just one component of the comprehensive packages we arrange for travelers visiting Nauru, whether independently or on our flagship Least Visited Countries Tour.

What Do You Need to Get a Nauru Visa?

Visa processing for Nauru is just one part of the broader travel services that YPT provides. We offer a comprehensive service that includes visa assistance, accommodation arrangements, expert advice on flights and travel logistics, and guided tour with our local team in Nauru.

Depending on your interests and schedule, we can design activity itineraries ranging from 1 to 5 days, ensuring you get the most out of your time on the island. To process your Nauru visa, we require travelers to book their accommodation through YPT and to join our local guide for at least one day of touring. This approach guarantees a seamless, stress-free, and enjoyable experience as you discover the hidden gems of Nauru and beyond.

Below are the required documents and materials for the Nauru visa application:

  • a filled in Nauru visa form (provided by YPT)
  • a copy of your passport
  • a passport photo with a white background
  • a hotel reservation (provided by YPT)
  • copies of your inbound and outbound Nauru flight
  • a certificate of employment or current bank statement

YPT will provide full guidance on completing the forms, preparing the correct documents, and navigating the process for our clients who book a Nauru tour with us.

Why Travel With YPT for Your Nauru Visa and Tour?

Since launching our inaugural Least Visited Countries Tour in 2017, it has quickly become a beloved offering at Young Pioneer Tours (YPT). This unique tour takes you to six of the world’s least visited countries: Nauru, Tuvalu, Marshall Islands, Kiribati, Micronesia, and Solomon Islands.

A major highlight of the tour is Nauru, officially the least visited country in the world, welcoming only about 200 to 300 tourists each year. YPT brings roughly 40% of those visitors, and that number continues to grow as interest in our Pacific group tours and independent Nauru itineraries keeps rising.

For most travelers, entry into many nations within Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia is typically straightforward, offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access. However, Nauru does require all visitors to secure a letter of invitation in advance.

Overall, requiring a Nauru visa maintain a secure and regulated environment while managing its international relations. This is influenced by several factors, including Nauru’s recognized and often debated refugee program in collaboration with Australia.

Fortunately, acquiring a Nauru Visa is one of the simplest processes you will encounter.

Why is it so easy?

Because at YPT, we handle everything for you!

Do I Need to Send My Actual Passport to Nauru?

Nope, just a copy. When you have all the correct documents you send them straight to Nauru’s Department of Justice and Border Control. We will then email you a copy of your letter of invitation.

Will my Passport be Stamped When I Enter Nauru?

Yes, once it is all organized you just get on the plane, present your letter of invitation to Nauru customs on arrival and your visa is stamped into your passport (be advised that it is a full page stamp).

How Much Does a Nauru Visa Cost?

For private tours, visa processing is $100 USD on top of any associated touring and accommodation costs. If you are on our Least Visited Countries group tour, Nauru visa processing is included in the overall tour package price.

How Much Time Does the Nauru Visa Process Take?

Typical processing time is 1 to 2 weeks, although we have seen visas approved in just a few days. To avoid any delays, we recommend submitting all application documents as early as possible.

Are Chinese and Russian Passport Holders Visa Free for Nauru?

A common misconception is that Russian and Chinese travelers can enter Nauru visa free. In reality, they are “visa fee exempt,” which means they do not pay the visa fee but still must submit all required visa documents and have the visa issued in advance to present on arrival at customs. YPT has assisted many Russian and Chinese visitors through this process. As such, YPT does not waive processing fees for Nauru visas for these passport holders, as the application process remains consistent with that of all other nationalities.
