YPT was one of the very first travel companies to open Socotra up for tourism and since then we have been very eager to expand tours to the PDR South Yemen.
Join us as you explore the beautiful and historic Hadhramaut province – this part of Yemen much like Socotra has largely been spared by the Yemeni Civil War. Back in the day and prior to reunification Hadhramaut was part of the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen, or South Yemen – the only communist and Soviet aligned state to have existed in the Middle-East, and a place many not only miss out on, but are trying to recreate.
The area is most famous for its mud houses and the stunning valleys surrounding it, but perhaps more importantly the Hadhramaut province gives a truly unique glimpse into contemporary life in a recovering Yemen.
Our tours to Yemen are capped at 10 people and due to popular demand, we expect this to fill up very fast!
