Independent Korean Language Study Tours

Following on from the success of our previous Pyongyang study group tours, we are able to arrange with Kim Hyong Jik Teaching University – one of the top Universities in Pyongyang – to allow independent study courses in Pyongyang, North Korea.

This particular tour is the only opportunity to feel like an ex-pat in Pyongyang. You’ll be able to use North Korean local currency at the university canteen and at local department stores/supermarkets, choose your own afternoon sightseeing and evening activities as you like, and take weekend excursions to other cities and rural areas outside of Pyongyang. All while learning Korean at your own pace and gaining certification from the university.

We’ve also managed to arrange all this at no extra cost on our standard independent tours, so this is a great value way to learn or improve your Korean. We can organise classes for all skills and abilities. You may also choose the length of your course (minimum one week).

EXTRA COSTS (PER PERSON)

  • Train fare between Beijing and Pyongyang = €170 each way (Second class sleeper)
  • Train fare between Dandong (Chinese border town) and Pyongyang = €120 each way
  • Flight between Beijing and Pyongyang with Air Koryo = €350 each way or €600 return (out of peak season prices)
  • Flight between Shanghai and Pyongyang with Air Koryo = €370 each way or €630 return (out of peak season prices)
  • DPRK Visa = €60

Our tour costs covers all meals unless detailed as an option on the itinerary, hotel accommodation, two Korean tour guides and a driver, all transportation within the DPRK, all entry fees for attractions unless specified within the itinerary and three 1 hour classes at the university every morning during the weekday.
