Young Pioneer Tours

Come Celebrate 10 Years of YPT With Us!

This May 1st marks ten years since we took our first ever group of Pioneers to North Korea, with our initial 6 enjoying Workers Day in the DPRK, and without knowing it were starting 10 years of what would become Young Pioneer Tours!

Since that first trip we have expanded to taking our brave Pioneers to a whole host of “destinations your mother would rather you stayed away from” all through the YPT ethos of “group tours for people who hate group tours” and fun at super value, with the best guides in the industry.

So, it’s been 10 years! What now?

The YPT 10 Year Celebrations

To say thanks to our loyal Pioneers we are planning some super celebrations in our favourite and classic destinations at 2008 prices.

That’s right, 2008 prices!

May Day, North Korea, €795 EURO*

Led by YPT’s very own Troy Collings, Rowan Beard and Matt Kulesza

This year for May Day we will be seeing all the classic sites, from Kim Il Sung Square to the Juche Tower, the Korean War Museum to the Pyongyang Metro, and of course visiting the DMZ. We also have special access to a Russian Mil Mi-17 helicopter to take for a whirl around Pyongyang city for a unique aerial tour of the capital.

We’ll also be celebrating 10 years of YPT on the banks of the Taedonggang at our very own YPT birthday bash!

*discounted price for the classic Group A tour, Groups B and C will also have a €150 discount, discount does not include the visa or the flight option or any other added extras. Offer is only open to YPT return customers and only valid until Friday 2nd March, and not open to people already signed up

Cuba May Day Tour, $795 USD

Led by YPT’s Gareth Johnson and Alistair Riddell

Apart from North Korea, our favourite destination might very well be the island of Cuba. And it’s hard to argue that there’s not a better place to be for May Day than Havana, where the huge celebration is part Latin American carnival part Soviet military parade!

We’ll also be seeing the Bay of Pigs, the Che Guevara Mausoleum in Santa Clara and the towns of Cienfuegos and Trinidad for an extensive look at this rapidly changing country.

*discounted price does not include the Vinales extension, any related visa or flight costs or any other added extras. Offer is only open to YPT return customers and only valid until Friday 2nd March, and not open to people already signed up

Caucasus Unrecognised Countries Tour, €1295

Led by YPT’s Unrecognised Countries specialist Marko Moudrak

One of the things we are proud to say that we have truly pioneered is travel to unrecognized countries. After hitting up South Ossetia in 2017 we can safely say we visit all the frozen conflict zone unrecognized countries! From Somaliland to Transnistria, and dare I say it Donbass, YPT is at the forefront of adventure travel to unrecognized countries.

For our May Day 10th anniversary celebrations we will be off again to Armenia and Georgia, or more specifically to Nagorno-Karabakh and Abkhazia. If there’s one thing you’ve really got to witness, then driving out in YPT’s ‘Lada fleet’ to the DMZ abandoned town of Agdam, also known as “the Hiroshima of the Caucasus” is probably it.

And on May Day itself we will be in Goris, Armenia, deep in the Caucasus mountains.

*discounted price does not include any related visa or flight costs or any other added extras. Offer is only open to YPT return customers and only valid until Friday 2nd March, and not open to people already signed up

So come celebrate with YPT this May Day to a destination your mother wants you to stay away from…
