Welcome to the Belize Overland and Islandia Tour. Belize was the former colony of British Honduras until just 1981 when it achieved independence, and is the only country in Central America where English is the official language. Islandia is the world’s foremost micronation.
Group A has the group arriving in Belize City, enjoying one night in the big smoke and then traveling for an overnight camping extravaganza and party on Coffee Island. If you have not heard of Coffee Caye it was the first ever crowdfunded private island in the world purchased by Let’s Buy An Island. It is also home to the self-styled Principality of Islandia. As the third group to camp on the island there will be an optional passport stamp and a ceremonial planting of the flag!
We are also currently working on island infrastructure and by the time of the trip will have a bigger beach and and outhouse!
After heading back to Belize City Group B embarks on an epic road trip across the circumference of Belize, genuinely seeing everything that this amazing little former part of the British Empire in the Americas has to offer. Those joining the trip shall also receive honorary citizenship of Islandia. How many tours come with citizenship?
