Middle-East Travel Update

The situation in the Middle‑East is rapidly deteriorating, causing serious travel disruptions and uncertainty across the region. Military actions and escalating tensions between multiple countries have created a highly unstable environment, and there is no clear timeline for a return to normal operations.

With that in mind we issue the following travel advisory for upcoming tours throughout the Middle‑East, as well as those scheduled later in the year.

What is the current situation?

At the time of writing, the Middle East is in one of the most serious crises in years. Tensions began with strikes on Iranian targets, which led to Iran responding with missile and drone attacks on Gulf states and military positions, including areas in Iraq and Syria. Israel has conducted strikes on Iranian-backed groups in Syria and Lebanon, and the United States has been involved in the region to support allies, maintain military presence, and protect personnel and assets.

The result has been widespread airspace closures across the region, particularly affecting major hubs such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha. Airlines have suspended services, with thousands of flights cancelled or rerouted and tens of thousands of passengers affected. Governments worldwide have issued travel warnings for countries directly involved, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Israel, and Lebanon.

Upcoming Tours

The situation is highly fluid and could last for days or months, with no one being certain when conditions will stabilise. While some countries are attempting partial resumption of flights and operations, this remains inconsistent and subject to rapid change.

None of our upcoming tours within the region are outright cancelled at this stage. We are closely monitoring the situation, consulting security experts, and in daily contact with our partners on the ground to determine if and when trips need to be altered. If you have a tour within the next 8 weeks, you can expect to hear from us directly as the situation evolves.

Future Middle‑Eastern Tours

For tours scheduled more than 6 weeks from March 1st, there is currently no reason to assume there will be problems or cancellations. Usual terms and conditions remain in place, and later departures are being treated on the basis that travel will be possible closer to the date.

Tours to Iran scheduled for later in 2026 are being approached with caution. Tourism will likely be affected, but the exact impact is unclear. History shows that even during regional tensions, travel can continue for those willing and prepared. We will continue to monitor the situation and update guests if conditions change.

What should I do if I am booked on a tour?

Guests booked within the next 6 weeks will be contacted directly with the latest travel and safety information. Options such as postponement or alternative arrangements will be discussed if necessary. For tours more than 6 weeks away, please be patient and continue on the assumption that your trip will go ahead.

We always aim to avoid cancelling tours if possible, but the safety of our guests and local partners comes first.
