Exciting news for travellers eyeing an adventure in West Africa: the Liberia Visa on Arrival application portal has been officially launched on March 11th 2025. This new digital visa platform eliminates the need for embassy visits, streamlining the visa application process and making it easier than ever to explore this fascinating country.

What is the Liberia eVisa?

The eVisa system allows short-term visitors to obtain a Liberian visa online in just a few simple steps. Rather than dealing with embassies or consulates, travellers can now apply from anywhere in the world, receive approval electronically, and enter Liberia with a printed confirmation. In most cases, approval is instant.

Please note that if there is a Liberian embassy in your country, you are required to apply for your visa directly at the embassy and not through the portal.

How Does the Liberia eVisa Work?

Applying for a Liberian Visa on Arrival is quick and hassle-free:

1. Apply Online – Visit https://visaonarrival.lis.gov.lr and complete the application form.
2. Make Payment – Pay securely using a credit or debit card. The visa costs $102.50 USD for all applicants.
3. Download and Print – Once approved, download your confirmation and print it for presentation upon arrival.

No in-person appointments or printed document submissions are required: the entire process is fully digital.

To ensure smooth processing, have the following documents ready:

• A valid passport
• A document proving the purpose of travel
• Proof of accommodation
• Travel and health insurance
• Proof of sufficient financial means

Upon arrival in Liberia, immigration officials will verify these documents before granting entry, so bring a printed copy as well.
