Young Pioneer Tours

Central African Republic

As one of the least visited countries of Africa, the Central African Republic or CAR is sure to bring you on an off-the-beaten path experience where you shouldn’t see any tourists. With the security situation improving as time go by, it is certain that the country will progressively appear on more and more travellers’ radars.

At the current time, Young Pioneer Tour organise Bespoke tours to C.A.R.

Getting in Central African Republic

To get to the country safely, there are currently two choices. First, you can cross from Cameroon across the Kadei river and do some activities related to the nearby national parks. Secondly, you can fly into the capital, Bangui.

Getting around Central African Republic

The infrastructure of the CAR are minimal. As such, most travel within the country involves a domestic flight. Young Pioneer Tours can assist you in booking those flights.

Things to do in Central African Republic

Dzangha-Sangha National Park

The National Park of Dzanga-Sangha is CAR number one destination for nature-lovers. In fact, it might well be one of the most interesting wildlife site of Africa, albeit a very underrated one. Located by the border of Cameroon and Congo in the southern part of the country, the protected areas of Dzanga-Sangha are well renowned for their western lowland gorillas and forest elephants.

The park is administrated directly by the WWF and has some very well organised and clean lodges available for tourists such as the Doli Lodge. To reach the park, it will be necessary to charter a flight from Bangui, which is not as expensive as it sounds! There is also a weekly flight available.

Pigmy village tour

While the neighbouring country of South Sudan hosts the world’s tallest ethnicity, the Dinkas, CAR is known for having the world’s shortest ethnicity, the Aka or Pygmy peoples. Located in the western and southern forested regions of the country, some of the Pygmy tribes welcome visitors and it is possible for us to organise visit and stays amongst the people.

Tours of Bangui

For those who are short on time or on a budget, Young Pioneer Tours can organise accommodation and tour guides in Bangui. During this tour, of 1 to 3 days, we will take you around the main sights of the boomtown of Central African Republic. Also, for those on a longer project in Africa necessitating complicated visas, some embassies in Central African Republic offer much easier processes to acquire visas for African countries such as Equatorial Guinea.
