11 Travel Blogs to follow in 2026

If you’re reading this then there is a decent chance that you already know that YPT has one of the best travel blogs in the world!

Here we detail not just travels from our many tours, but also guides to other places, breaking travel news, and even the odd amusing anecdote. We do though realize that we are not the only fabulous travel blog out there, with some others being almost as good as us.

With this in mind we have duly put together 11 great travel blogs for you to follow in 2026. Some are useful, some are amusing, and well yes, some are just absurd.

As always, the list counts down from 11–1, with the best saved until last. Opinions are very much our own.

11) The Culture Trip

More a travel magazine than a solo blog, but they are just so good that I had to include them. If it’s worth going to, the Culture Trip probably has a piece on it. Great mix of practical guides, hidden gems, and offbeat spots.

10) Shit Cities

In part a parody site, but they go to the kind of places we love — even if most people consider them “shit”. Think Datong in China or Siluguri in India. Travel for those with a twisted sense of adventure.

9) The Blog of Travel

One of the OG travel blogs, with excellent coverage of dark tourism. If you’re into abandoned places, grim histories, or unusual destinations, this blog nails it.

8) Dark Tourism Blog

Exactly what it says on the tin. Great insights into cemeteries, ruins, and offbeat locations around the world that most bloggers skip. A must-follow for serious dark tourism fans.

7) Urbex Travel Blog

Focused on urban exploration and forgotten spaces. Think derelict factories, abandoned hospitals, and ghostly towns. Amazing photography and stories from around the globe.

6) The Packable Life

This blog focuses on minimalist and efficient travel. Great for those who want to pack light, travel far, and still hit epic destinations without unnecessary baggage. Practical, readable, and well-photographed.

5) The Good Times (Intrepid Travel)

One of our rivals, but honestly they run a great travel blog that highlights destinations, adventures, and travel news. Well-written, practical, and with some epic photography. Definitely one to follow.

4) The Street Food Guy

A little coy here by not putting myself at number 1 (a very Gard move), but this blog tracks my travels around the world, mostly with YPT, often focusing on street food, bizarre meals, and offbeat culinary adventures.

3) Don’t Stop Living

The blog of Johnny Blair about backpacking around the world. One of the original travel bloggers and a huge friend of Young Pioneer Tours. Epic, honest, and inspiring for anyone who wants to get off the beaten track.

2) Young Pioneer Tours

We put ourselves at a humble number 2. Why so great? We provide practical info on all our destinations, guides to remote or unusual spots, and we break travel news better than anyone else. If you want unfiltered travel insight, this is it.

1) Migrationology

One of my all-time favourites. Mark Wiens doesn’t just make great videos; his blog is hugely informative. Mostly food-based, but he fuses culinary adventures with off-the-beaten-track travel beautifully.
